Graduation Ceremony and Lamp Lighting Ceremony
*5 April 2017, Durg:* On the occasion of the Lamp Lighting Ceremony of the IX batch and Graduation Ceremony of the IV batch of nursing students, organized by Bethany College of Nursing, Shri. Arun Vora, MLA, Durg spoke at length about the services rendered by nurses in the field of health services. #Shri Arun Vora was the Chief Guest for the occasion. #Prof. Dr Mrs Abhilekha Biswal, Principal of P.G. College of Nursing, #Shri. Shiju Antony, State Secretary of Chhattisgarh Congress, #Rev Fr. George Abhayanand OIC, Asst. Director, Bethany College, #Rev Fr.Abel Mathew OIC, Bursar and #Prof. Dr Mrs Beny Susan Chacko, Principal were the dignitaries for the occasion. Shri. Arun Vora further elaborated that a nurse needs to be utmost service oriented and that excellent nursing care can heal a patient better than medicines. Prof. Dr. Abhilekha Biswal spoke about the importance of Lamp lighting ceremony in the life of nursing students. She reminded the nurses that today, nursing is not only a service oriented task, but also a multi-disciplinary career in health sector requiring knowledge and skill. Shri. Shiju Antony also spoke about the important role of nurses in the life of a human person. A nurse is the one who witnesses the birth of a human life and also the end of human life.
Students who performed throughout the year in #academic and #extra–#curricular #activities were awarded with trophies and certificates. Students who brought pride to the college by bagging several state-level awards were felicitated by the dignitaries. The programme concluded with a #cultural #extravaganza and colourful display of talents by the nursing students.
